Ethereum developers split upcoming 'Pectra' upgrade

Ethereum's Pectra Upgrade to be Split
Ethereum developers have decided to divide the upcoming Pectra upgrade into two separate packages. This decision was made to reduce complexity, minimize risks, and allow for faster implementation of new features.
- First package scheduled for early 2025
- Includes EIP-7702 for wallet improvements
- Second package to focus on Ethereum Virtual Machine upgrades
- PeerDAS implementation moved to second package
Generally, smaller forks are less risky.
While the split may slightly delay some features like PeerDAS, developers believe this approach will ultimately benefit Ethereum's development and reduce the risk of potential bugs or issues during the upgrade process.
