Crypto Scammers Arrested in Miami

Miami law enforcement has apprehended at least two individuals involved in a massive $243 million cryptocurrency theft. The scam targeted a single Genesis Global creditor through a sophisticated social engineering attack.

The perpetrators, identified as Malone Iam, Veer Chetal, and Jeandiel Serrano, impersonated a Gemini customer support agent to deceive the victim. They successfully obtained 4,064 Bitcoin and proceeded to distribute the funds across various exchanges and cryptocurrencies to cover their tracks.

Crypto investigator ZachXBT, along with blockchain forensic experts, played a crucial role in the investigation. Their efforts led to the freezing of $9 million in stolen assets and the recovery of approximately $500,000 for the victim.
